| A native of South Carolina and resident of both Tennessee and Texas before moving to Virginia in 1992, Rob McDonald is shaped by the wonders and burdens of a life lived in the American South. Place dominates his sense of everything as he seeks to locate its source. The new series NATIVE GROUND: LANDSCAPES OF SOUTHERN WRITERS explores this interest in the form of an ode to his love of reading: to books, to writers and places that inspire in them the words for things that matter. McDonald's work is in the collections of the Amon Carter Museum in Ft. Worth, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Duke University, University of Mississippi, and Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. | ||||||
